Safeguarding & Child Protection

At Sherbrook Primary School, the safety, wellbeing and welfare of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

We have a range of policies and procedures in place to support our safeguarding responsibilities. These include our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, which can be found in the Policies section of our website.

Working Together to Keep Children Safe

There may be occasions when we need to work in partnership with other agencies to support a child or family. Where concerns arise regarding a child's welfare, we will normally discuss these with parents and carers before making a referral. However, we may share information without parental consent if we believe that doing so is necessary to protect a child from harm or would otherwise be in their best interests.

We also actively support the Government's Prevent Strategy, which aims to safeguard children and young people from radicalisation and extremism.
