Spring 1:

Our Topic this term has been Our Local Area. We have been on a local mystery bus tour around Cannock Looking for local landmarks. We have been learning about maps and points on a compass. We created our own route using the BeeBots.

We all enjoyed the orienteering in Forest Schools.

In English we have read some lovely stories and described characters in these stories and created our own version of these characters, using our imagination as to what they would look like as we hadn’t seen a picture. We continue to be amazing with our phonics and reading.

We have been brilliant at our shape and symmetry work in maths, learning about 2d and 3d shapes and lines of symmetry of different shapes. Currently we are learning about the value of money.

In science we have been learning about, light, shadows and darkness. We have used the torches to create shadows and learned how the sun can create shadows. We have looked at how the sun and moon travel around the world creating day and night.

We all enjoyed the cold, playing with the ice and making sure the birds were well fed with our bird feeders in forest schools.

We have had a fabulous time in PE with Jess doing Boogie Bounce with sensory lights and music.

Karolina has been teaching us to follow a chord in music using farm animals as a key.

Spring 2:
